Chapter 14

I love this chapter because we see Jonas experience a little bit more pain by sliding down the hill but there was only one problem the setting changed completely by changing the way the whole hill looks and how the material of the hill so this is what the chief elder meant by great pain.I also don't understand why Jonas is not allowed medicine it can't impact on the memory in anyway can it.But the best part of this chapter is how Jonas let Gabriel sleep in his room, but that's not all he actually transmitted a memory to Gabriel and that made him sleep. From reading this part of the story i came up with a theory the younger you are the the easier it is to pass down memories, because in a previous chapter Jonas tried doing it to Asher and it didn't work so i guess what i said is correct.Something else i thought when reading this is that maybe Gabriel is destined to be the next receiver i don't really know.

Chapter 14

• Do you agree that painful memories are made easier when they are shared? Yes because if you tell someone a painful memory they will consult in the best way possible.

• Do you think it’s fair that one person in the community—The Receiver—should have to be burdened and pained by memories so that no one else is? No because it is not really nice that the Giver is given all the memories of the world's beauty.
